Feel good links

I’d like to share here some of the interesting links I’ve read recently:

This one is the less covered story about ordinary and good Indian men. After all the nasty stories we’ve read, this comes as a breath of fresh air and points out all the nice qualities Indian man have. With a great father, brother, cousins, grandpas and uncles who care very deeply about my family, I know this side of the Indian man personally. The article emphasises the importance of community and acceptance in a family and society as major factors which influence a man’s behaviour. As the Dalai Lama said in his New York lecture about ‘The Virtue of Non-violence’ today, going by common experience, the more love and acceptance one is given, the more open and giving one tends to grow up to be.

This one is about a man who gave up money in his life and feels happier, healthier and better connected with people than ever before. I especially like how he expresses what he has learned through his experience. We chase after money and ways to show society we’ve done well for ourselves. We consume and we waste because we are so distanced from the source of what we use. We are spiritually impoverished. This article is both interesting and inspiring.

I found this to be a good list; the habits of happy people. and for more information on how to meditate within normal life, even when you think it’s impossible, here is a useful link:

I would like to have added here the speeches of the Dalai Lama in New York in the past three days. His words were kind, humorous, wonderful, inspiring, insightful and wise. But I only watched the live web streaming. I hope it will become available online soon.

Finally I’ll leave you with a sweet video.

It is an ad but people can actually be this kind.
