LfE 16: Back in Edinburgh

12/01/2010

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good holiday.

I’m back in Edinburgh, this familiar and beautiful city. I actually have developed a kind of loyalty to it. The water is less hard here than closer to London, and with Arthur’s seat to navigate with, you know you can never really be lost. The bagpipers that play here and there feel so right for this place. Such a good vibe. If you get a chance, you really should visit.

I miss my cousin in Slough whenever I see carrots, peas (peace), or corn- he likes them. It was nice to stay with them. I thought a lot about family values and children’s brains while I was there. I visited London too just the day before my birthday. Too bad the best transport is all underground. The ‘overground’ is beautiful. Very British architecture (what else to expect in the capital?) and when we walked over the footbridge as the sun set, the buildings were lit up. I was happy not to be the Queen. They have all these rules about how to think and act. Very restricting.

I went for a meeting yesterday and I’m starting work tomorrow. Today I spent reading for my assignments (still not finished and due very soon) and walked to the Police headquarters to pick up my blessed bike!! (Remember the one I told you I found and handed in?) It took me what seemed like forever to get there with getting lost around three times! But now I have it and a lock for it which I bought on the way back. So life should be easier.

That’s all from me for now. As my project takes shape, I’ll let you know more about it.

Stay happy and healthy.

The Sun shines on you.
