Goodbye Edinburgh, Hello Oldenburg

This is the beginning of a new series of letters I have sent home. It starts three months after my last letter from Edinburgh when I was about to leave for India.

30th November 2010

Hello all,

After a long flight and stopover at Dubai, and landing in Glasgow, I am back in Edinburgh on my way to Germany. Due to unexpected heavy snowfall my flight yesterday was cancelled. I have booked the next available flight on 5th December and will start work as soon as I get there. Until then I’m enjoying my time here, catching up with old friends and when I visited lab, I decided to take up the paper I was supposed to work on publishing as my purpose for the next 3 days. It’s been a good long time since I worked and I think it will be fun 🙂

Edinburgh is beautiful in snow. Snow itself is beautiful. No matter how much trouble it causes, its one of those things which just leaves you in awe… And as a friend says, it truly does bring out the kid in all of us. Someone had built a big SnowCat behind the Chancellor’s building with pipettes as whiskers! It was very well done actually 🙂

I’m staying over with my old flatmate – she has been very kind to let me stay on longer than expected! I’m looking forward to Germany but taking things one day at a time.

Hope all of you are doing well.
