Sunglasses

Because bright light has recently not been friendly to my eyes, I wore sunglasses when I went out today. Apart form shading the eyes, I found that they have other benefits. People can’t read your whole expression- (just the eyes and the brows can reveal most of your expression) and no one can see exactly where you are looking. So when you walk past a group of people who expect you to greet them, you could turn your head vaguely in their direction and smile at no one in particular, and they would all assume you smiled at them!

It’s amazing though, how humans have turned even the most functional object into a provision for making a fashion statement. Apparently the 80’s huge, half-face-covering shades are now ‘in’. It goes well with my attitude of functionalism. It curves over and lets less direct light in. Go 80’s!
